| So, seeing as how it's been about 9 months since I updated my blog, I think I'll throw one on here :) Since June, there have been a lot of changes. I started dating my amazing girlfriend, Kristin, in August - she's more than I could ever ask for. I love her very much :) September brought tough stuff - the quartet went through a personal change. Leslie left the group, not because he wasmad or anything, but his mother-in-law (who has alzheimers) was moving in with them, and he really couldn't stay gone as much. We did, however, find a baritone to fill his slot in just a few weeks, named Roy McCarty. He's every bit as good as Les, and writes some songs. We're doing a couple of his already. The group is started to expand our reach, so to speak - we've got a concert booked in Shreveport, Louisiana, in July, and we're also finalizing arrangements for potential trips to Pennsylvania, Florida, and Kansas. Exciting stuff :) Also exciting, we're releasing a single to national radio in about a month. :) I'm working at a radio station in Ashland, KY, as station manager. It's a big change, as I'm not on the air constantly every day, but I enjoy it. I have an apartment above the station here, and when I'm not at home for quartet/church/girlfriend, I stay down here. This was kind of short, but I wanted to put up an update. I'll try not to let it be 6 months before I update again! :) Til the next, my friends. | | |
| It been forever, and I'm not going to type long. Just wanted to ask people to pray for me. I've got a need I'm praying about, and just ask others to pray as well. Thanks so much. | | |
| So, I haven't written in forever. Finished a new song this week. Here are the words, check it out. Enjoy :) "A Prayer" O God in Heaven Father of us all High Above all others Holy, Holy is your name Send Your Kingdom to us Place Your Will in us Provide for us Forgive us when we fall Help us to forgive
When temptations rise Lord, Fix our eyes on You You are King - with Power and Glory You are King - with Praise and Honor You are King - Forever and Always You are King - Forever and Always Amen
| So, it's been absolutely forever since I've updated. And I was informed that I left Courtney Sanders out of my last post. So: I'm also glad courtney was in showboat. lol. School's going pretty well. My cell phone finally works again, so if you want the number, just ask me. I'll give it to you. Classes aren't too bad. Astronomy is filled with my math, which was always my mortal enemy in school, so I'm working on it. Lots of calculator work. lol. It's the only way I can get through some of it. Forgiven 4 recorded our second CD, and should have it back this week. Randy sent one of the previously unrecorded/unreleased songs from it to a promoter, so we'll see what happens with that. She's at National Quartet Convention right now though, so we won't hear back for a few weeks at least. Still working at the station. Friday nights are filled with AM production and football broadcasts, so I keep busy. Stop in and see me sometime! Friday nights I'm there for like 6 - 11 at least....last week was 6-1AM because of all the production I had to finish. It's cool if you stop in though. A lot of it is recording stuff, so if it's a tape, I start it and sit there for a half an hour while it records. Anyway, yeah. Stop by. Umm, so I had a string of like 4 weeks where I wasn't at my own church because the quartet sang so much, and I wasn't there Sunday because we sang. It's nuts, but I like it. Good times. Check out our schedule at www.forgiven4.com We're booked pretty solid til the end of 2006. The dates we don't have stuff is pretty much because we can't. Between our jobs, and my schedule with the music department, life's crazy. Well, I think that's about it for now. Leave me some...... | | |
| We finished ShowBoat tonight, so a note to all in the cast,
Thanks you guys, so much, for making it as awesome as it was. You guys rock. I will always remember Taters, Egyptian Rat Screw right in the middle of rehearsal, late runs to all kinds of resturaunts because I couldn't remember what was open and what wasn't (I'm still sorry about that! lol), "Diction!", Doing it all for "Scotland" or "William Wallace"....or both, Laughing at Jay and Caleb doing the backwoodsman thing, seeing Maggie almost fall right at the beginning of opening night and for just a second wondering what would happen if she had hurt herself, Karaoking "Waterfalls" with Eric, "If I had a million dollars...", Hearing the audience react when Jay finished "Ol Man River," Hearing the audience when the rest of the guys finished "Ol Man River", when the entire cast sang "Ol Man River" in the finale, The explosive standing ovation from the sell-out-standing-room-only crowd that followed the finale on opening night, Leaving on a jet plane, everyone busting up the first time I used the accent, making people laugh just by saying Windy McClain's name in the scene where I was supposed to say it anyway, giving Windy 5 middle names, Caleb's Marlon Brando, "Gay" Steve, trying to use the word "miscegenation" in every possible way, Captain Andy doing the rest of the "play" by himself, and all the rest. If I listed all the memories here, I'd never get done typing them all.
Thanks to all of you, for making this an incredible experience.
